About Kilcock Golf Club

Kilcock Golf Club is a member-owned club located in County Meath, first established in 1984 as a 9-hole layout. In 1990, land was acquired to extend the course to 18 holes, with celebrated architect Eddie Hackett shaping what is now a testing but fair parkland course. The club offers a warm welcome to members and visitors, supported by a strong community spirit and a commitment to ongoing improvement.

The Challenge

In the years following the economic downturn, Kilcock Golf Club experienced a range of challenges, including declining membership, reduced revenues, and the need to invest in the club’s physical and digital presence. In early 2018, the Joint Management Committee appointed mygolfGroup to help stabilise and strengthen the club’s business.

Key goals included growing membership, improving marketing and communication, increasing visitor revenue, and creating a sustainable structure for future success.

The Solution

mygolfGroup worked closely with the committee to develop and implement a bespoke improvement plan that addressed the club’s most pressing needs.

Key actions included:

  • Strategic Marketing Plan
A new marketing approach was developed, built around a refreshed club brand, targeted messaging, and a strong emphasis on member recruitment and retention.

  • Membership Communications & Recruitment
We introduced regular and more engaging member communications, ran targeted recruitment campaigns, and built a clear pathway for prospective members. The club’s membership categories and pricing were also reviewed to maximise appeal and value.

  • Website & Digital Enhancements
A new club website was launched with improved usability, member services, and marketing functionality. This included better online visibility, SEO, and clearer calls to action for visitors and prospective members.

  • Business Structure Support
Guidance was provided on governance, operations, and club management to ensure clear roles, efficient processes, and improved financial oversight.

  • Ongoing Strategic Support
The relationship evolved into a long-term strategic partnership, with continued involvement in marketing, planning, and business development.

The Outcome

The club has experienced a remarkable turnaround:

  • Significant Membership Growth
Membership increased by over 40%, with the club reaching over 700 active members and introducing a waiting list due to demand.

  • Stronger Brand & Market Position
Kilcock now has a clearer identity and more professional presence in the market, with improved visibility among visitors, societies, and the local golfing community.

  • Operational Stability
Improved business practices and better decision-making structures have resulted in sustained financial performance and a more resilient operation.

  • Modernised Digital Presence
The club’s website and marketing channels now serve as effective tools to attract visitors and engage members, driving both revenue and loyalty.

“We are very excited with the appointment of two of the most reputable companies in Irish Golf (mygolfGroup and Synergy Golf) and have no doubt their experienced team will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our golf club. We’re looking forward to seeing improvements to the golf course, our sales & marketing, and many other aspects of the club's business over the coming months.”
